Veronica is best known for her Langosh and Peppi books. The titular characters, Langosh, a sensitive and introverted fugitive from the law, and Peppi, his faithful dog, explore the world from the shadowy margins; but despite their best efforts they cannot remain separate from the swirling social, historical and interpersonal histories that surround them.
Her debut graphic novel Fugitive Days, won the 2020 Doug Wright “nipper” award for best emerging artist. A 322-page adventure in Central Europe and the Balkans, the story gently uncovers the unique cultural and historical context of the region, subtly exposing the protagonists own unusual circumstances and personal history. Cumulating in the 2015 “migrant crisis”, Fugitive Days peers into the intangible web of history, humanity, unique individuals and the colliding social and political events that continue to shake that web.
WHATS NEW:
LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL
Join the Post family for a vacation a-la-wheelchair! Slated for release in fall 2025, this book delves into accessibility, inclusion, diversity and family. Based on lived experiences, Let the Good Times Roll will be an eye-opening read into the lives of disabled travellers and their companions.
This book will be published by Conundrum Press as a part of their “Conundrum 25” lineup, celebrating 25 years of publishing some of Canada’s greatest graphic novels!
I am very excited to announce that I am part of the “Helga Tribute Exhibition” at the Parobrod arts centre in Belgrade, September and October, 2024.
This exhibit is curated by Strip-o-Tetke (comic aunties) and began as a response to a Hagar the Horrible tribute which did not invite or include any female artists.
The female comic book artists of Serbia responded with an all-female tribute to Helga (Hagar’s wife in the famous comic strip)
I am proud to be among their international submissions and am so grateful that I was invited to participate in this special event.
Hot To Trot:
Hot to Trot is the latest book following the adventures of Langosh, Peppi, and Yeva as they traverse the American landscape and rocky emotional terrain. Can they stay true to themselves and keep their friendship alive?
“Hot to Trot” is a beautifully told story of friendship, introspection, personal growth and empathy. I don’t just read Veronica Post’s comics, I dive into them” -Noah Van Sciver (Fante Bukowski, Joseph Smith and the Mormons)
“Hot to Trot” is a masterclass in character building. It’s never stated if Langosh, the book’s hero, is a punk rocker, but he moves through the world like one. While everyone is telling him to grow up and join society, he is hell-bent on living under the radar, off the grid and thumbing his nose at society. Yeva, his Russian friend, coming from poverty, is the voice of reason, exposing his privilege. But, people are complex, and in the end, who is right?” -James Spooner (The High Desert, Afropunk)

Bouncing Beet: the video!
This is a video presentation of my children’s story “The Bouncing Beet: A Rhyming Celebration of Ukrainian Culture”. This story introduces Ukrainian words and cultural objects while following the adventures of Pete the cat and Baba the grandmother as they make borsch. There is even my personal recipe for borsch at the end!!
Inspired by my 3rd-generation Ukrainian-Canadian heritage, cross-cultural appreciation and inclusion, this work was supported by the Shevchenko Foundation and Arts Nova Scotia.
